As a rule of thumb, we should aim for around 7-8 hours of sleep every night. Regularly sleeping for anything less than 6 hours a night (or more than 9 hours a night) has been associated with reduced life expectancy. But don't worry if you find it hard to get your quota of sleep in one go - napping in the day can be good for you too (just 10 minutes can give you a much-needed boost in energy and alertness)!
